Challenge

A new brand developed around a UV phone and device sanitizer / charger targeted for use in a vehicle, launched during the pandemic. It needed an identity, packaging, and a full content library in time for a CES Innovations Award submission.

The product had to feel clean, credible, and accessible. We needed consumers to understand both that the product worked and how it could fit into their daily lives.

Approach

My team inherited a logo and built out the identity, packaging, photography, video, and broader content library. A social media specialist and another designer on my team supported blog content, graphic production, and social ad setup and posting, which let me stay focused on the creative direction and website build.

The visual direction was bright and consumer-friendly, with enough urgency to feel current without tipping into pandemic anxiety. We kept the product presentation clean and the palette optimistic, and wrote benefit-forward copy that treated the product as an everyday health tool rather than clinical equipment.

Photography and video were produced from home. I adapted setups, lighting, and environments to make content that looked intentional and worked the limitations into the look instead of fighting them. The video work in particular became a useful testing ground for production approaches that would have been harder to justify under normal budget and timeline pressure.

Outcome

Utilimedic was named a CES Innovations Award Honoree. The award application and its video were mine start to finish: researched, written, shot, and produced in-house. For a brand built in months, in a home studio, with a small team operating under lockdown, I am proud of the result.
